How to optimize my internet connection with FTTP and a wall port?


I live in a new house in Australia that has FTTP installed. I have a modem and an extender in my garage, but they are not very good. I have attached an image of my setup in the comments.


I want to connect my TV to the internet using the wall port in the living room, but it does not work. What am I doing wrong? What equipment do I need to make it work? How can I improve my wifi signal for my TV? I appreciate any advice from experts.
